Dolly Making - Matilda

Dolly From Kain Stokin (I dunno the translation for that)

I love making dollies. When I was small (not only in size but age too) my family is not that well to do. So, to have what I wanted, I have to learn how to make it. Among the things I wanted, is a doll. So, I saw a tv programme and I started making my dolls from used clothes, ice-cream sticks, egg shells or papers. But I like dollies made out of clothes because it is not breakable. Ok, enough bout the lenghty introduction... here we go!

Say Hi to Matilda :)

1. Head Making

Get these items first: scissor, needle, threads - black, beige or cream color,
a knitting yarn, glue (just in case) and fibre filler.

This is the 'Kain Stockin' I was referring too.
We have it in our shop.  I chose the beige color.

See.... like a cute dumpling

Twist the fabric and recover the bun again

Place the fibre filler into the fabric like shown above.

Twist

Like this

Cut the fabric

Stitch them

Ok, take a yarn of any color you like. I like this caramel color.

Fold it as much as you like. Remember, the more the better so
that your dolly has a full set of hair!

Stitch them nicely...

Ta da!!!!

2. Body Making

These are the only thing we need... a thread, a needle, scissor,
pen or pencil and a plain color cloth.

Fold the clothes like this.

Draw the parts

Cut Cut Cut

Unfold after cutting

Sew them together... You can either sew them manually or like me,
I used Brother Innovis Sewing Machine.
Very EASY! I don't have to do much just adjusting the pre cut fabric.
No paddling. haha! super duper fun!

Ta daa!!

Stuffed them with the fibre filler

and... start stitching the body and the head together.

Almost there...

Sew the eyes and the lips... (please be inform, you need
to do it with tender loving care if you want your dolly to
 have a nice lovely feature)

She is almost done... some hair styling and new clothing...
my dolly is...

DONE!
